In honour of International Women’s Day, we’re sharing the stories of women in our community who inspire, lead, nurture and help make this world an amazing place to live in.
Since 2015, we continue to be inspired and motivated by these truly remarkable women who not only bring our local community together but shapes it positively as well.
Vivy Yusof (@vivyyusof), co-founder of Fashion Valet (@fashionvalet), she continues to support local women businesses to grow with her brand such as dUCk scarves and dUCk cosmetics for hijabi who are looking for halal cosmetic and skincare.
6 years ago, although we were newbies in the market, they believed in our made in Australia natural skincare products and became our first wholesale partner, which we are truly grateful for.
She nurtured our brand and is very generous in sharing her true experiences of using our bestselling Rosemary & Mint Shampoo on various social channels.
Thanks to Fashion Valet's strong presence in South East Asia among hijabis, our natural products were able to reach Singapore, Brunei and Indonesian customers seeking for alternatives to organic skincare.
Today, we continue to grow stronger together.

Yen encountered us back in 2015 during our first pop up event in 1Utama.
Hong Mei's personal struggle as a mum looking for alternatives to help her children's eczema issue truly resonated with her.
She kindly blogged about her personal experience of using our popular relaxing Lavender Hand & Body Wash to share with her community as she is also aware that people with sensitive skin issues like eczema and psoriasis can now benefit with more clean beauty options which The Olive Tree offers.
Since then, Hong Mei and Yen have become close friends who support each other.

The green warrior who started en eco-movement in Malaysia and allied with us since 2017.
We have always been moved by Claire's vision and boldness where she started the first Zero Waste Bulk Store in Malaysia to offer package free shopping.
She shared Hong Mei's vision of offering refills of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in 20kg bulk and implemented it at her stores without any hesitation.
The Hive has always been our No. 1 bulk refill wholesale partner since then.
We are so thrilled that more consumers will now be able to refill their favourite natural personal care products with no packaging by reusing their existing containers and being more sustainable.
Zero Waste Pioneers
This was a priceless moment in 28 June 2019 where for the first time in history, all eco-friendly businesses and zero waste believers from Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam & etc who advocated sustainability through their actions convened to share their positive impact on mother nature.
The individuals in the photo above are zero waste pioneers from The Hive Bulk Store, Nude Zero Waste Store, A Bit Less, Frangipani, Kita Refills (former BYOB Damansara Kim).
We are blessed that Hong Mei was a small part of the inaugural event and was given the chance to share her thoughts and reducing waste experiences of something so close to her heart from a business perspective.
Aurora Tin is one of the former co-founders of Zero Waste Malaysia (@zerowastemalaysia_official) and a passionate advocate who tirelessly leads the way on how to live a zero-waste lifestyle through her daily sharing from her personal day-to-day experience. For years, she has gone the extra mile to inspire individuals and businesses to go plastic-free and zero waste with many impactful earth-happy practices.
The day she shopped for our natural handmade soap with no packaging at our store is still very fresh on our minds. She lovingly wrapped our handmade tea tree soap in her reusable handkerchief! We were truly inspired by her action that although seemed very small to many but meant a lot to us.
Malika Bouqniss from Frangipani Bulk, is a strong French woman who turned her deeply held eco-friendly belief into a business in a foreign land (i.e. Malaysia) when she struggled to find zero-waste products here.
She loved our vegan, cruelty free and biodegradable bulk refill options and carried our 20kg refills of natural shampoo, body wash, Pure Liquid Castile Soap and unscented Argan & Rosehip Body Lotion as these products are aligned with her passion for sustainable eco-friendly alternatives which are kind to our home.
Despite only working with her for two short years, we are still inspired by her perseverance and dedication in driving plastic-free consumption.
Hong Mei was very impressed with Sew x Dignity (@sewxdignitykl) as this social enterprise which creates equal opportunity for employment and education by helping women and children to upskill and be financially independent. She deeply believes in women empowerment.
We had the opportunity to collaborate on our 2019 Christmas Collection to showcase their craftsmanship and sewing skills.
Nysa and Nysakapas (@nysakapas) team make exquisitely gorgeous handmade modern batik in Terengganu.
Hong Mei discovered them on Instagram and collaborated with them on our Christmas Collection with Batik Furoshikis and cosmetic pouches in 2019 to offer sustainable gift wrapping and gift ideas during the busiest gift-giving season in order to reduce waste.
Lisette Scheers from Nala Designs (@naladesigns) is a passionate Dutch artist in a seasoned business loves investing in artistic causes.
She’s one of Hong Mei's favourite designers in Malaysia as she is able to bring to life our shared passion for mesmerisingly beautiful reusable accessories of tote bags to travel pouches in our 2020 Christmas Gift Sets.
We wish we had more space to give a special shoutout to more unsung heroes whom we were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with.
