We will be conducting an introductory 2.5 hour workshop where participants will be able to learn the techniques of batik painting.
Batik is an ancient wax-resist dyeing process. The tradition of batik is practised worldwide from Asia to Africa - Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, India, Sri Lanka and even Nigeria. However, the most well known batik is from Indonesia with its diverse patterns, techniques and quality workmanship.
This workshop will be conducted by Miss Dora Ting from Les Dyer Workshop in Chinese but will be translated in English who actually hand dyed each of our Christmas limited edition cotton bags and furoshiki wraps last year.
This workshop does not only cover the theoretical aspects but includes a fun practical session whereby participants will actually get to do batik painting on their own cotton bag and bring them home.
