This Christmas, we worked with Dora Ting of Les Dyer Workshop to give our Cotton Bag a facelift.
Originating from India, the indigo dye is derived from the leaves of shrubs in the Indigofera family. It has been used for more than 5000 years in most regions of India to colour yarn and fabric (especially cotton) in shades of blue. It is the blue dye that is used to dye our jeans blue.
1200 hours = 2400 bags & furoshiki wraps. Each cotton bag is carefully tied, dyed, rinsed, dried and ironed, by hand. Every bag is unique and different.
